About Voxpoppy

Voxpoppy covers the stories people are talking about, in India and around the world, each in about 60 words, each with a one-question poll so readers can say where they stand.

Vox Poppy is an independent news publication built to give readers a voice on the news. Every story ends with a question, so you can say where you stand and, a day later, see where everyone else does.

Published by Vox Poppy, New Delhi, India.

How a story is made

Every story starts from reporting by an established news outlet. We summarise the facts in our own words — never copying the original's sentences — and link to the original report at the end of every story so readers can go to the source.

An editor reviews and approves every story and every poll before it is published.

How the polls work

One vote per person per story. Results stay hidden for 24 hours after publishing, so early votes cannot sway later ones. After 24 hours voting closes and the results are shown to everyone. Polls reflect the readers who chose to vote; they are not scientific surveys.
